The Age Friendly Ross (AFR) taskforce meets once per month to discuss, collaborate, and plan upcoming events, programs, and initiatives that help keep Ross friendly to all ages. Ross Turkey Trot 2025

Join us for the Ross Turkey Trot 2025 and kick off your holiday season with a spirit of gratitude and fitness!

Whether you’re racing to beat your personal best or enjoying a festive stroll with family and friends, we can’t wait to see you there! All race participants receive on course nutrition, custom event bib, and a commemorative 2025 finisher’s medal.

All race participants ages 0-13 are FREE! 🦃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️.

If you are interested in SPONSORING this event, either in-kind or as a primary sponsor, or becoming a VOLUNTEER, please reach out to rossrec@townofrossca.gov. All morning set-up and afternoon breakdown volunteers will receive free race entry.

Get ready to trot your way through the scenic streets of Ross at the 2025 Ross Turkey Trot!

Race Options:

  • Toddler Dash (FREE): Get ready for giggles and fun at the Toddler Dash! Designed for our youngest runners (ages 1-3), this adorable dash offers a safe and playful space for little ones to show off their speed. Online registration is not required for the Toddler Dash.

  • Stroll(er) & Youth 1 Mile ($10): Join us for the Stroller & Youth 1 Mile Race, a perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a fun and engaging experience together! Parents can push their little ones in strollers while older kids dash alongside.

  • 5K Fun Run/Walk ($15): Perfect for all ages and fitness levels! Enjoy a leisurely stroll or a spirited run through beautiful neighborhoods adorned with fall foliage.

  • 10K Road/Trail Challenge ($25): For those seeking a bit more adventure, tackle the 10K route that promises a mix of gentle hills and the beauty of Phoenix Lake. Course will be clearly marked and will offer nutrition and Water at Natalie Coffin Greene Park (as you enter and exit Phoenix Lake)

Start Times:

  • 10K: 8:30 AM

  • 5K: 8:45 AM

  • Stroller / Youth 1 Mile: 9:00 AM

  • Toddler Dash: 9:45 AM

Racer Info:

  • Bib / Packet pickup will be November 10th - 14th at the Ross Recreation Office from 10:00am - 4:00pm (located at Ross School - to the right of the gymnasium). Racers may pick up on Saturday, 11/15, between 7:00am - 8:00am.

  • Day of Racer Registration: New racers must register by 8:00am on Saturday, 11/15 at the Ross School blacktop. Racers who arrive after 8:00am will not be able to participate.

Race Highlights:

  • Community Cheer: Come out, line the streets, and cheer on our racers!

  • Post-Race Celebration: Join us for a festive gathering featuring music, delicious refreshments, and local vendors.

  • Costume Contest: Dress in your Thanksgiving best! Prizes awarded for the most creative costumes in each race category.

  • Family Fun Zone: Activities for the families and little ones, including a bounce house for ages 5 and younger, volleyball net for adults and older kids, games and crafts.

This event is for all RSD kids and their caregiver to share a special evening dancing to music by DJ Tia, playing games, enjoying lite bites, and a few extra surprise treats.  All couples will receive a professional picture!

Do We Have Enough Water In Marin? Find out at Age Friendly Ross’ Breakfast Gathering on Wednesday, June 4th from 9:30am - 11:30am at Crown & Crumpet Cafe!

Join Age Friendly Ross for a gathering for Ross residents on Wednesday, June 4th from 9:30am-11:30am at Crown & Crumpet Cafe (22 Ross Common, Ross).
Ranjiv Khush, our area’s representative on the Marin Water board, will speak about water in Marin and share conservation tips. Light breakfast will be provided.

Mother Son Pickleball (MSP)!

Let the dads dance. Mothers let's play some pickleball!

We're proud to be partnering with Krishna of Pickleball Organized (www.pickleballorganized.com) to present this inaugural tournament for beginners and experienced players alike.
Grab your son and keep him active while competing against other mother/son duos. This registration is a dual registration - one registration counts for both adult and child.

If interested, Krishna will be offering an introduction to pickleball and tournament rules half an hour early, at 9:30 am.

If registration fills, we will look to add additional spaces or dates depending on demand.
Open to Ross and Bacich families, grades K-5.

Bring your own paddle or borrow one! All game supplies included. Refreshments provided.

Mother/Son tournament winner will walk away with a trophy!

We are looking to have a massage therapist come on site and be available for an additional fee - more details to come!

Age Friendly Ross’ Valentine’s Luncheon Celebration

Please join us on February 13, 2025, for an Age Friendly Valentine’s luncheon celebration. Held at the Marin Art and Garden Center to honor Ross’ older residents, especially those 80 years of age and older.

Enjoy great food, fine conversation, beautiful music from the Branson School a cappella Choir, lovely art by Cedars residents, and some nice surprises.

This event is for Ross residents aged 60+*
*Age Friendly residents (60+ years) may be accompanied by a younger person.


Donations are welcome and will be used towards covering costs for this event and future Age Friendly Ross programs.

Love & Pickleball: SpeedDating for Adults 40+

4:45pm complimentary Intro Pickleball class for those new to the game!

Join Ross Recreation and Pickleball Organized for high-quality interactions and unforgettable experiences. Pickleball & Love is a 40 and older event dedicated to fostering genuine connections, fun, and creating a community of active singles.

Don't miss out on the chance to meet other like-minded individuals and enjoy the game of Pickleball! 

Upon arrive, participants will enjoy libations and bites while event organizers share details and rules for the event.  Participants will be matched up according to questionnaire answers.  Participants will play and rotate through 7 minute timed games created with fun, laughter and connections in mind.   There will be a post event mixer from 7:00-8:00pm after the event  (1 complimentary glass of wine or beer included)! 

Libations and snacks are provided during the event.  Please bring a refillable waterbottle.
