About Ross Rec

Ross Recreation is a non-profit agency formed in 1972 to provide recreational enrichment and community service for the residents of Ross and their neighbors.
The department has grown from just a handful of classes to more than 100 classes per year for ages 2 to seniors.

Mission Statement

Ross Recreation, known as Ross Rec or Ross Recreation and Park Department, is a self supporting, organization that operates under the charter of the Town of Ross, California. It provides recreation and educational programs to citizens of Ross and surrounding communities, manages certain Town of Ross recreational facilities and provides guidance on park issues to the Town Council.

Our vision for what our organization should be and provide is summarized by fun, learning and innovative programs that build character, provided by an institution that is highly organized, with great instructors and which nurtures a sense of neighborliness in our community.

Ross Recreation Auxiliary

The Ross Rec Auxiliary is comprised of women volunteers living in the Ross School District. Our goal is to support the Ross Recreation Department, to build and foster relationships within the town of Ross, and to provide Ross residents with an enhanced sense of a bonded community.
The Auxiliary strives to obtain these goals by organizing social events, which bring all community members together while simultaneously serving to raise funds to support the Ross Recreation educational programs. These programs include adult and child athletic programs, early childhood education, music, dance, enrichment programs, science, math, and language courses. The classes are open for enrollment to all individuals and families.

Community Room

Ross Recreation has a Community Room with over 1,000 square feet of usable space to accommodate more than 20 people, and is located in Room 12 at Ross School, next door to the Ross Recreation office.
Our Community Room is adjacent to the Ross Common field, opposite the Ross Post Office, making it convenient for parking and drop-off. It includes a new fully-equipped kitchen to allow cooking classes to be held in the room. We also plan to house other classes there, including Adult Workshops, Art, Chess, Science and much more.
